Industry

The EuroCC-project may facilitate contact between industry and academia in order to develop research and development projects in the areas of HPC, AI and HPDA.

Focus is especially on small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), who may not have the knowledge in-house and can benefit from HPC infrastructure and expertise.

Industrial contact representatives

If industry and SMEs need more information about what academia can offer in the areas of HPC, HPDA and AI/ML solutions, they are welcome to contact the universities.

HPC services for the industry

DeiC has established national HPC systems for research, which can also provide services for industry and SMEs. Companies have two options for using DeiC national HPC facilities:

  1. Industry and SMEs can participate as partner in research collaboration projects together with academia. Access is granted via the universities via specific project. Details on the national services for research use can be found here. Please contact your academic partner for access to the HPC resources. Industrial contact representatives in Table 1 can provide more information for research collaborations at each university.
  2. Industry and SMEs can buy access to the services of HPC facilities for internal and commercial use, without being part of a research project with academic partners. Support for commercial projects is available at the individual HPC facilities. For information on the commercial services provided and their prices, please contact the individual HPC facilities in the table below.

Interactive supercomputing with intuitive GUI. The facility provides secure virtual environment for data analytics and simulations. Both CPU and GPU are available. A large library of applications is supported as well as the ability to “bring your own environment”. Pay-as-you-go pricing model. ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified facility.

Traditional HPC environment optimized to run many tasks in parallel using many computing nodes. SSH/terminal access with possibility of providing secure virtual environments. Large number of “slim” nodes available, with possibility to access “fat” and GPU accelerated nodes. A large library of applications is supported. Virtual environments can be configured as required.

The LUMI supercomputer is also available for Industry (Table 3).

LUMI will be one of the world’s fastest computer systems, having theoretical computing power of more than 550 petaflops. LUMI will also be one of the world’s leading platforms for artificial intelligence. Expected to be available in the second half of 2022.

LUMI access via Danish universities

On the Danish National part of LUMI, industry can access LUMI via a collaboration project with one of the 8 Danish universities. See Table 1
