About DeiC
The Danish e-infrastructure Consortium (DeiC) is tasked with developing and coordinating collaboration on digital research infrastructure between universities covered by the Danish Universities Act.
DeiC's vision is for researchers at Danish universities to have access to a digital infrastructure that enables research and education at a high international level.
Other relevant institutions with educational and research activities can participate in the collaboration after approval by DeiC's board.
DeiC decides on development and operation in the following areas:
- Joint research network for the Danish universities and other relevant educational and research institutions.
- Joint digital infrastructure services for the Danish universities and other relevant educational and research institutions.
- Joint cyber and information security services for Danish universities and other relevant institutions.
- Joint computing and storage facilities for Danish universities, including allocation.
In addition, DeiC is tasked with:
- developing a strategy for handling research data and national data repositories.
- manage and implement funds for national digital research infrastructure.
- coordinate participation in national and international collaborations on digital research infrastructure.
- advise the Minister for Higher Education and Science and the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science on digital research infrastructure.

DeiC's Board of Directors consists of management-level members from the eight Danish universities, all with a mandate from their own university. In addition, the Rectors' College appoints a chairman of the board for DeiC. The daily management is carried out by Director Gitte Julin Kudsk, who is appointed by the board.
DeiC's legal basis is described in Executive Order BEK 625 of May 26, 2023.
DTU is the host university for DeiC and assists DeiC administratively and legally. The employees of DeiC are employed at the host university.
The employees primarily have offices at DTU and Aarhus University, but also people at the University of Copenhagen and the University of Southern Denmark.

The Director may, without prior approval from the Board, enter into agreements with a financial framework of up to DKK 200,000. The Chairman of the Board and the Director may, without prior approval from the Board, enter into agreements with a financial framework of up to DKK 500,000.
