Payment model for WAYF

Institutions and service providers pay an annual fee to use WAYF.

Since 2013, the WAYF service has been one of the services provided by DeiC (Danish e-Infrastructure Cooperation) as part of the research network.

All institutions whose users use WAYF to log in to services must pay for it.

How-to guide
Institutions on the research network

Institutions that have a connection to the research network pay a total annual amount for the connection. The payment includes a number of services, including WAYF.

These institutions can thus use WAYF without restrictions and without additional payment.

Institutions without connectivity to the research network

Institutions without a connection to the research network pay separately for the WAYF service. The payment for 2016 is calculated by multiplying the institution's turnover (understood as the sum of the ordinary operating expenses in the latest available accounts) by 0.102‰.

In order to gradually phase in newly connected institutions, however, we have the rule that if DKK 20 times the number of logins through WAYF since the institution was connected to the service is a smaller amount than the above, you pay this instead.

In the first quarter of the year, the payment is calculated and invoices are printed, based on the latest available accounts and the number of logins (ever) at the time of calculation.

If an institution joins WAYF during the year, payment is made in the same way as above, but where the revenue figure is reduced proportionally with the number of months the institution is connected. Payment for this is calculated and invoiced at the end of the year.

An institution can stop using WAYF without notice, but user fees already invoiced are not refunded.

Service providers

Providers of services connected to WAYF pay an annual fee of DKK 100.

In addition, DKK 0.25 is paid per login via Nem-Login. The prices are exclusive of VAT.
