Policies for national HPC facilities via DeiC

This guide is a short description of different policies for the various national HPC facilities via DeiC.

LUMI

Projects cannot be extended both for time and for resources

This is to better control of the usage of the system and to give the users a better experience using the system as the queue times will overall be kept shorter.

Project length is maximum one year

  • A project cannot be any longer than one year.

Project resources will be cut if not used

  • If you have not spent 40% of the resource within 6 months there will be an automatic cut of resources on the system. This is to enforce a continuous way of using the system as also by DeiC rule. This will be enforced in early fall 2025.
  • This is to ensure shorter queue times, as all users cannot use all their compute at the end of the period.

There are special rules for people of some nationalities

  • If all the project members are affiliated to a Danish research institute, SMV or public administration there are no special rules. Please contact DeiC if this does not apply.
