Update from Chair Helle Zinner Henriksen regarding the Evaluation of DeiC
Update from Chair Helle Zinner Henriksen on the publication of the DeiC Evaluation results, and on the decisions and process for the relaunch of DeiC.
In August 2025, the rectors of the Danish universities decided to launch an evaluation of DeiC. The evaluation was conducted by Deloitte, and a final, approved report is now available, containing recommendations for both changes to the existing DeiC and a future scenario. The report shows that there is clear support across the universities for a joint national organization that can manage the operation and development of shared research-related and technical IT services for the universities.
Based on the report, the rectors have decided that DeiC is to be relaunched and established as an independent legal entity. This requires a change to the regulatory framework governing DeiC and will therefore be a lengthy process. The rectors have further decided that each university must appoint an interim board member from its executive management, who will take office on August 1, 2026, and that an external interim board chair will be selected in August.
