Colin is an HP Distinguished Technologist and Presales Strategist in the Enterprise Group of HP who deliver infrastructure products and support.  He has been working on the realization of hybrid clouds for over 3 years, most recently the enterprise architecture of HP’s Helion Network.
 
In late 2012 through 2013 he led the core team of architects in HP who put together the technology of the HP NFV go-to-market proposition in spring/summer 2012 he designed and implemented the compute platform for HP LIFE, HP’s on line training system for young and emerging entrepreneurs in emerging and developed markets.  This has helped about 200,000 young people, at no cost to themselves, to be better equipped to get employment or create their own businesses.  HP LIFE was the first know hybrid cloud deployment between HP’s public cloud and a commercial cloud provider.  
 
As a serial innovator he has created for HP over 100 patents covering 40+ innovations and been the technology innovator behind a number of new HP products and businesses.
 
Colin has always worked for HP in a variety of roles, he joined directly from his PhD.  In his early days with HP he was one of the creators of X.509 security certificates we all use today and in 1997 was awarded the European Community IT prize for Innovation.  He lives in Devon, England and is a chartered engineer (CEng) and Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (FIET).
