We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Nordic Industry Days, taking place on 2-3 September 2024 in the city of Copenhagen. This event is a unique opportunity for industry professionals and high-tech startups to explore the latest developments in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing in the Nordic region.

Join us on these late summer days in the heart of the Danish capital, next to the charming Tivoli Gardens for insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and knowledge sharing. You will meet speakers from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, who will share their experiences and insights on the application of HPC in their respective companies.

This event is arranged by the National HPC Competence Centres of the Nordic countries and Dansk Industri. The Nordic National HPC Competence Centres serve as a comprehensive resource for companies. We provide support in AI and HPC technology adoption, from developing competence and training to assisting with funding applications and access to supercomputers.

Danish Industry – DI – is Denmark’s largest and most influential business and employers’ organisation, covering manufacturing as well as service industries across sectors such as transport, energy, IT, health, trade and professional services.

Welcome All! An introductory on the importance of supercomputing (HPC) within industry. We will in so many words describe the necessity and importance of utilizing European supercomputers to ensure the competitiveness of European businesses on a global scale. In a dual-sided keynote presentation you will be informed on both a European front and a more local front on why Supercomputing is essential in the pathway to successfully developing and implementing AI.

An in-depth introduction to the latest addition in AI development provided by the European Union. AI factories are entities which provide an AI supercomputing service infrastructure. The amended regulation will make the EU’s supercomputing capacity further available for innovative European start-ups and SMEs to train their AI models and develop their projects.

SME Cases and panel discussion hosted by an NCC with Dictus, Iceye (FI) SiloAI

This enlightening session will explore the transformative power of supercomputing in small and medium-sized enterprises. It will feature insightful presentations from three innovative SMEs: Dictus, leveraging over 15 years of experience in speech technology; Iceye, providing near real-time intelligence for natural catastrophe response; and SiloAI, Europe’s largest private AI lab. The talks will be followed by a panel discussion offering a deep dive into the practical applications and business growth potential enabled by supercomputing.

This session will be moderated by Thor Wikfeldt, head of ENCCS, the Swedish National Competence Centre.

Talks and Panel with DBC (Dansk Biblioteks Center), Supersight LTD

The session “Emerging AI Use Cases on HPC” will feature presentations and a panel discussion with innovators in both industry and the public sector. Supersight Ltd will showcase their development of crypto-specific Large Language Models (LLMs), while DBC (Danish Library Center) will demonstrate their utilisation of AI in library services. The talks and following panel discussion will explore emerging and cutting-edge applications of AI leveraging the power of supercomputers.

Per Öster, CSC - LUMI Supercomputer, Europe’s flagship supercomputer; Viktor Rehnberg, Chalmers - AI use cases on HPC, TBD - Arrhenius Supercomputer

A presentation of Europe’s flagship supercomputer, Lumi, and all the insights as to how a supercomputer enables companies, industrial entities and others to develop, integrate and utilize AI within a vast range of different settings and scenarios. Through a combination of technical insights and case-based demonstrations this session will provide knowledge on how your company, institution or organization can benefit from the usage of supercomputer facilities.

Creating opportunities for industry users

Lightning talks by SMEs with EuroHPC AI Support Centre, EuroHPC AI Factories, Johan Kristiansson (ColonyOS), Alan O'Cais (MultiXscale)

Various EuroHPC initiatives support industrial users who have never leveraged HPC before or would like to scale their AI workloads to make the most of the EuroHPC infrastructures provided. A selected panel from these initiatives will pave the way for an interesting, lively and interactive ‘Fish Bowl’ discussion. This discussion will focus on how those support initiatives and existing infrastructures match the needs of industry in general and SMEs in particular, ensuring that all participants are engaged and part of the conversation. Selected participating SMEs will be allowed for 'lighthouse talks' to present their business ideas and HPC infrastructure/support requirements.

This session is moderated by Morris Riedel, Leader of the Icelandic National Competence Centre.
